Giving comes naturally to sensitive souls. But receiving — truly receiving — is something many of us have never been taught. Yet it is one of the most transformative energetic skills we can learn.
There is a frequency shift inside the body when you allow yourself to receive with openness rather than guilt.
A softening.
A warming.
A returning.
Energetically, receiving does three beautiful things:
1. It expands the heart center.
Receiving vibrates the heart chakra at a soft, elevated frequency that opens intuition, generosity, and connection.
2. It signals safety to the nervous system.
Receiving communicates: “I don’t have to carry everything alone.”
When the body feels supported, creativity and emotional clarity naturally rise.
3. It restores balance between giving and replenishment.
Receiving fills the well so giving becomes fullness rather than depletion.
Here is a simple practice to help you open to receiving:
The Receiving Bowl Technique
• Sit comfortably and form your hands into a bowl.
• Imagine that bowl being filled with what you need — rest, comfort, softness, support.
• Say: “I allow myself to receive.”
• Inhale for a count of four, exhale for a count of six.
This communicates safety and receptivity to the nervous system and energetic field.
During this month of giving, allow yourself to receive something nourishing — even if it’s simply a breath, a moment of quiet, or a gesture of kindness.
Receiving is not taking.
Receiving is allowing life to meet you.
